What if the way you sat in your studio could help you build strength, improve productivity levels all while amplifying your creativity? The way you carry yourself directly impacts your productivity levels and the good news is that micro shifts have the capacity to create big results!
For years, I believed that terrible posture was just inevitable for me because I had scoliosis. It was an agreement I created when I was about 10 years old and diagnosed with scoliosis. Rather than working on my posture, incorporating more movement, and believing positive change was possible, I believed that poor posture was just something I would have to live with.
It was hard for me to sit up tall for extended periods of time (longer than 30 seconds was truly a challenge 😫). It wasn’t until I stepped back to reevaluate the positions I was holding myself in and the chairs I relied on the most to truly understand what the root cause of the issue actually was.
When I was able to shift my mindset from “I just have terrible posture because of my scoliosis” to “I can improve my posture regardless of my scoliosis” I was able to create new movement patterns that last! As a result, my posture improved, I got stronger, and felt and sustained more creative energy throughout the day!
I want that for you too! That's why I’m so excited to share my new workshop with you! The Art of Sitting: Redefining Comfort & Posture in the Artist Studio. I’m going to show you how small changes to your setup can make a big difference.
What we’ll cover:
• The difference between active and passive sitting and why it matters for your posture and energy.
• How to choose a chair that works best for your unique practice.
• Are expensive ergonomic chairs worth the hype? Let’s break it down.
• How to incorporate movements that improve your posture and alignment, even if you don’t have a fancy chair.
This workshop isn’t just about sitting, it’s about creating a setup that supports your creativity and reduces discomfort and strain. Whether you’re painting, sculpting, or crafting, you’ll walk away with practical insights you can use right away.
